In order to ensure the enforcement of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 116 “On measures for effective organization of public administration in mining industry and geology in line with the administrative reforms” dated of July 27, 2023 and in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 83 dated of August 21, 2023, the State Geological Information Center was reorganized into the Subsoil Use Center.

The main tasks of the “Subsoil Use Center” State Institution are:

• issuance of permits for subsoil use (for prospecting, exploration and mining of mineral resources)
• issuance of permits for drilling wells, special water use and water consumption, hydrogeological conclusions
• provision of public services related to subsoil use to business entities ensuring transparency through electronic bidding
• monitoring compliance with permitting procedures for the purpose of rational use of subsoil areas
• maintaining a Digital Geological Information Fund, a State Register of mineral reserves
• developing and maintaining the state cadastre in the area of subsoil use
• carrying out examination of geological projects.
